The purpose of this project is to deliver an education program to educate the students on the food waste problem in the Primary School sector.


The program consists of 3 stages:

  • “Waste to Food”,
  • “Food Inventory and Donation” and
  • “Food waste Prevention”.

  • 避免廚餘產生

The objectives of the project are to accomplish each of the stated goals via the following actions.

  • Increase environmental awareness – further deepen the skills and knowledge of the students in relation to tackling the food waste issue;
  • Positive impact in longer run – foster a culture to sustain the good environmental behaviour instilled in the students through the project;
  • Benefit community– benefit the community through engaging fellow students family, teachers and community in the project activities; and
  • Contribute to overall environment – deliver measurable benefits to the environment by reducing food waste production incurred due to the activities of the project.


  • 提高環保意識 – 進一步深化學生對有關解決廚餘問題的技能和知識;
  • 積極正面影響 – 推廣可持續發展的文化,以可持續培養學生良好環境保育行為;
  • 造福社會 - 通過社區活動,例如有機蔬菜義賣、分享日可以參與同學的家庭,教師和社區以致造福於社會和
  • 有助於整體環境保護 – 通過項目活動例如:「21日惜食大挑戰」而減少的廚餘可有助於減少堆田區的壓力。

This is one of the key underlying concepts for students to understand the process and benefits of the natural ecological cycle which run throughout the project.

課程其中一個關鍵概念就是讓學生了解自然生態循環系統。課程讓學生學習一個「循環概念」- The Loop。意思就是利用自然界本身的有機資源循環,讓學生知道珍惜和學習各種環保議題。

To complete the students’ understanding of food loss minimisation at pre-consumer level, a key challenge is for the students to develop a habit of taking food inventory and food donation

透過結合網上遊戲「21日惜食大挑戰」之 愛心捐食行動,旨在透過電腦遊戲讓同學明白健康飲食和食物捐獻的概念, 在二十一日內建立新的良好習慣。完成遊戲後, 表現優秀的同學會得到禮物作為鼓勵。


To complete the students’ understanding of food waste prevention at post-consumer level, the students are posed with the challenge to change their behaviour pertaining to food waste prevention and other good environmental behaviour.
